Classic Creamy Guacamole

Holy guacamole, this stuff is good! This Classic Creamy Guacamole has the perfect texture and just the right amount of spice. I love guacamole for an appetizer with chips, in tacos, used on sandwiches, and more. The options are endless! I added sour cream into my recipe because I think the sour cream adds flavor and makes it extra creamy, but if you are avoiding dairy you can simply leave it out or use some type of dairy free sour cream or yogurt! I like Kite Hill's Vegan Sour Cream as an alternative option. Either way, this is the perfect appetizer for any occasion and will definitely be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients:

• 3-4 ripe avocados, depending on their size

• 2 tbsp sour cream (omit for DF or use vegan sour cream or yogurt)

• 1/2 white onion, chopped

• 1-2 Roma tomatoes, chopped

• 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, chopped (keep extra for topping)

• 1 tbsp garlic, minced

• 1/2 tsp lime zest

• juice of 1 lime

• 1 tsp cumin

• 1 tsp chili powder (I like the lime chili powder from Trader Joe’s!)

• salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mash the avocados with a fork or other utensil. Mash them most of the way, leaving a few larger chunks for texture purposes.

  2. Add in the sour cream and mix with the avocado until fully combined.

  3. Add in the chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, garlic, lime zest, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, and salt & pepper. Mix everything together until it is well combined.

  4. Taste test the guacamole and add more salt and pepper as needed.

  5. Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and serve with tortilla chips. Top with extra chopped cilantro if you would like and enjoy!
